Are you an experienced energy sector professional looking to take the next step in your career? We are looking for an Energy Process Expert – Junior Operations Coordinator who brings strong business process knowledge from the utilities industry and is interested in transitioning into IT Operations and Application Management Services (AMS).

This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in energy utility operations, such as billing, customer service, market communication, or contract management. Your understanding of industry processes will be highly valued from day one, while we provide structured onboarding, mentoring, and training to help you build your technical and operational expertise.

You will work alongside experienced IT Operations professionals, contributing to incident coordination, release activities, operational documentation, and service delivery while developing into an Operations Coordinator or Service Delivery Management role.

Your responsibilities

  • Support the analysis and initial triage of operational incidents by applying your energy industry process expertise.
  • Identify whether issues relate to SAP IS-U billing, market communication (MAKO), data quality, or business process execution.
  • Assist in coordinating operational activities across internal teams, vendors, and customers.
  • Participate in monthly service reviews and help prepare SLA reports and customer presentations.
  • Support testing activities, release coordination, and user acceptance processes.
  • Create, maintain, and improve operational documentation, work instructions, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional teams to ensure efficient incident resolution.
  • Learn and apply ITIL-based service management practices.
  • Gain hands-on experience with ticket management tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA.
  • Gradually take ownership of operational coordination tasks, including vendor communication and customer interactions.
  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge of SAP IS-U, SAP CRM, and energy market processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within IT Operations and Application Management Services.

What do we expect?

  • 4–6 years of professional experience within the energy utilities sector in roles such as Billing Specialist, Case Handler, Customer Operations, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of energy industry business processes, including:
    • Annual billing
    • Customer switching
    • Contract management
    • Meter reading processes
    • Dunning and payment processes
  • Practical knowledge of German energy market communication (MAKO), including familiarity with messages such as UTILMD, MSCONS, and REMADV.
  • Hands-on experience using SAP IS-U from a business user perspective.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and detail-oriented working style.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business users and technical teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, German is an advantage
  • Interest in developing a career in IT Operations, Service Management, or Application Management.
  • Willingness to learn ITIL processes and modern service management practices.

Nice to have

  • Initial exposure to IT support, ticket management, testing, or incident handling.
  • Experience using SAP CRM or SAP BW.
  • Participation in SAP implementations, system migrations, tariff changes, or MAKO releases.
  • Basic English skills and willingness to work in an international environment.
  • Interest in pursuing ITIL and SAP certifications.
